josejose: I use the balm and the oil. I alternate between the two right after my morning shower. I will say that the balm tends to be thicker than the oil due to the holding nature of it. I recommend only using a small quantity on the tip of your finger and that should be enough. This stuff barely has a smell but it's pretty pleasant. Recommend.

This balm has its reputation for a reason; simple as that. Smell is 10/10–not sure why people complain. They absolutely nail the balance of noticeable yet subtle scent. I actually despise anise/licorice but this is balanced to smell more like an herbal tea.
Texture is almost perfect, just a tiny bit heavier than my other balms which may work better for others. And its all natural which is a necessity for me.
Its just a good ol fashioned earthy manly product. Pairs very well with argan oil.

Dallas G.: Dad jokes aside, I ran out of my last beard butter and I just thought I'd give this a try. I'm so glad I did. I've used beard oil and Maestro beard butter, but this is a thousand times better. This has virtually no scent and it softens my goatee exactly how I want it. My goatee is kind of long and looks really scraggly with hairs going everywhere. This softens and keeps it all in line without a "hold". I love it.

Mark Fox: I've seen this so many times on Amazon I thought I'd give it a go. I've used many beard products as I'm always after that elusive perfect product. This isn't it I'm afraid!

Has a nice pleasant smell that isn't overpowering. Feels good in the hand as you warm it and goes on the beard well with no residue etc. You get quite a bit in the tin compared to other beard balms too.

It just doesn't feel nice once its dried. My beard feels quite stiff and over the course of the day it becomes dryer and unruly. Almost feels crusty to the touch or when I comb it over again.

It's an ok product but its definitely not a 5 star product. I'm just amazed how many positive reviews there is. I'd say go with another product or equal price or cheaper. In fact go cheaper as I've used many sub £10 balms that do a better job than this one.

Agripino Oliveira: I bought this this balm by chance in SLO, California in 2014 and since there I’ve been using it. I’ve tried a few alternatives brands but they are far away from the Honest Amish. Best beard balm ever.

MF48: First, the scent. What about the scent? There is much to-do about the scent in the reviews and you may be afraid that the scent is "strong" or that you'll smell like licorice all the time. Don't be concerned. I have no idea what these people are on about. There is a hint of anise (black licorice) but I think the scent is a mix of spice notes and woodsy scents with maybe a tiny bit of anise. I think, personally, the top note is clove. Is it a strong scent? No, absolutely not. One single spritz of cologne is way stronger than this stuff. Will you smell it? Yes, faintly, and for a little bit until you either adjust or the scent fades away--it's hard to measure what is actually happening under one's nose. Having used it for a few days, my wife did not even notice the scent of it on me. In fact, for the sake of science, I put a lot on one morning, waited a few minutes, and had my wife give me a sniff from about 5 inches away. She said that she couldn't really smell anything at all. In any event, I think it smells quite good. (NOTE: If you cringe at the thought of wearing even the weakest scent, as some men do, Honest Amish makes an unscented version of this balm.)
