After using it for a few month, I'm confident this egg is the best value in its class bar none.

Robert Jones: I love this grill! It is perfect for me since I do not have anyone to cook for other than myself. I can fit enough meats on it to feed me for a few days at least. It's easy to clean up and I can adjust the temp by simply opening or closing the air intake. Well worth the money!!!

Glenn: Have done two briskets, two chickens and some baby back ribs. All came out really good. The value is the best deal out there. Get the right lump charcoal and regulate with the vents and it will hold temperature for 10 plus hours. Maybe more. Tons of instructional videos. Watch them as there is a bit of a learning curve. $299 inc. shipping was too good to pass up. Came well packed with no damage issues. Happy pitmaster here!

A b: Che dire?

Amazon Customer: Great build, great results. Easy and economic way to BBQ and get the “KAMADO cook” (which is really good - I say that as a Weber user).
It will handle more but now I don’t hesitate to fire it up for just 2 of us as is quick and economic, using no more than a handful of charcoal at a time for a cook up.

Michael MaxeyMichael Maxey: The Kamado Joe Jr arrived cracked but it still functionally works. My understanding is that cracks in kamado eggs can be fixed with refractory cement so I'll give that a try. For the first cook I used a small amount of lump coal (1 mini charcoal chimney worth) and with that small fire the unit held 300 F for several hours, much longer than my Weber charcoal kettle grill. Adding more coal will get you higher temps. With that I slow cooked 2 tri-tips for about 30 mins and then seared them on my gas grill's searing station to finish them off - terrific results.
With the Jr space is limited on the small grill but 2 tri-tips had plenty of room. I live alone and have other larger grills for parties but the Jr would probably be tricky to do a variety of outdoor cooks for a family of 4. Burgers sure but little room for meat & veggies concurrently.
10-inch griddle fits well for cooking breakfast and fry cooks.
Stars added for its' compact size on my limited size patio and for how well it held temperature. Star deducted for arriving damaged (unit arrived upside down in the box which was open at one end so I inspected for damage right away).

Xavier1963: I've bought overly large propane grills (non-Weber) in the past thinking it was such a "good deal" when they weren't Weber grills and just too big other than for large parties. Here's the thing, if you like to smoke OR grill x2-x3 a week with minimal cleaning and the biggest draw for me was the temperature control w/ the LEAST AMOUNT OF FUEL being used, ceramic type of charcoal grilling is the way to go:
1. It's better than propane.
Cooking w/ charcoal gives you that char-taste that you CAN NOT get from propane unless you buy special grilling meat injector fluid that mimics that charcoal taste
2. Excellent temperature control.
It's a pain in the ass to do this w/ a metal small charcoal grill (which I'd still take over a propane grill, btw).
3. FUEL CONSUMPTION (this is actually the #1 REASON WHY I bought this type of grill).
The more you grill, the more you'll save in fuel costs over time. I have a metal weber kettle grill (18") and it uses at minimum x2-x3 times more fuel (due to the heat dissipating via the metal). The ceramic is #1 in this area in conserving your fuel and heat. Go to BJ's or Costco and BUY the LUMP CHARCOAL, NOT the BRIQUETTES...

G. Johnson: Firstly, the price of this KamadoJoe goes up and down a lot. I paid £400 in October 2022
Sometimes it goes up to £550! So beware.
It’s a good quality piece if kit that’ll last a lifetime if you don’t abuse it.
You should get a table or strong platform to put it on as it’s way too low to cook straight from the cradle if placed on the floor.
I feel mislead by all the people on YouTube etc who say it’s ready to cook in 20 minutes after lighting the charcoal. It ain’t. And I don’t use cheap charcoal. Only quality lump wood.
In my experience you’ll need a hairdryer or something similar to crank up the heat.
I have tried getting it really hot for pizza cooking but after several attempts I conceded defeat. The pizza base burns before the top side is browned so unless you have a good blow torch I wouldn’t bother.
It’s good for low n slow cooks, it’ll retain mediocre heat for several hours and after you’ve finished you can close the lid and air intake knowing your charcoal will stop burning quickly and be partly used again.
The gasket is basic and isn’t good and should be upgraded, after one year and around 50 cooks my gasket...
