Andrea Thompson: I have a few different books and always find myself reverting back to this book. The recipes are beautiful and delicious, all measurements are accurate and the baking works! This was also my first book, so it's great for beginners and more intermediate bakers as well!

J. HuntJ. Hunt: Helen Nugent is a pie artist, there is no doubt about that. But she is also a fine teacher. While I've only made her apple cranberry winter wreath pie so far, (which turned out delicious), I admit that I didn't try and duplicate her crust design. I kind of did my own thing, but I used many of her tips and techniques for help. The next pie I have my eye on is her latticed Chicken Curry Pot Pie, which I plan on trying to replicate her beautiful lattice design. There are many recipes here that I can't wait to make. Even my husband is going to help make her Winter's Evening Mini Tourtieres recipe for our upcoming birthday celebration!
This is visually lovely book with a wide array of delicious recipes, but more importantly it is filled with step-by-step instructions that make creating your own delicious work of pie art possible. I'm so happy I bought this cookbook.
Note: the photos here are of her 'Vintage Flowers Chocolate Cherry Bakewell Tart' that I made today. Update: I wanted to share a picture of Helen's "Summer lemon curd fruit wreath tart" that I made yesterday. It tastes so darn good!

sheena: Don’t be intimidated by the spectacular designs in this book. The tutorials are thorough and easy to follow. Before you know it, you’ll be turning out pies that are works of art AND taste amazing! Helen has created a book that is suitable for all pie makers regardless of your level of experience. I have made a couple of these and impressed myself with how well they turned out. This is an excellent gift for the novice or experienced baker in your life. Have fun making the pies— I sure did!

Vunda: I’m a great fan of Helen’s pastry works of art. I follow her on Instagram and I’m always blown away with some of her pie creations. I love this book, it’s full of beautiful pictures It’s not too technical, the instructions are easy and straightforward. The recipes follow a step by step set of instructions for the amateur pie maker to the accomplished. Fantastic present to buy for all pie lovers out there, as we fast approach the festive season. Buy the book, it’s so worth a place on your bookshelf!

Pastel: Helen makes edible works of arts and then, she shows us how to do it ourselves. The instructions are easy and straightforward and the illustrations could be framed. But what's also cool is that you can follow Helen as @batterednbaked on Instagram and she has some great IGTV demonstrations to accompany the book. I haven't bought a cookbook in awhile because I download most recipes but this one is a keeper.

dsjsws: Prior to this, I have never given a cookbook such a ringing endorsement, nor told anyone they should absolutely buy a cookbook. This cookbook is an exception and exceptional!
I do not particularly even like pies, and it motivated me to try almost every recipe.
Blueberry pies (yummy and gorgeous)
Caramel apple pie (not your average apple pie)
Stunning presentation of plain ordinary quiche
New take on lemon meringue pie
Those are just a few of the recipes I have tried so far. Each one has been delicious and absolutely stunning!
This is not your average pie cookbook.
Ms. Nugent takes you step by step baking and decorating the pies. Her directions are easy to follow and come through with outstanding results. A novice can use this cookbook with outstanding results. The experienced baker will be in heaven working through all the recipes.
I am seldom bowled over by any cookbook. This one is a game changer if you want to bake pies. Ms. Nugent is a very talented baker with the mind of a cake decorator. Very creative and fun.
Buy it! I promise you will enjoy reading it, drooling over it, and baking the pies.

JBK310JBK310: The pie book to end all pie books! I bought this to improve my pie decorating, but didn’t expect that the recipes would live up to the eye candy photos! I’ve made the maple salted caramel apple pie twice now. People rave about it! Lick their plates! Tell me they will dream about it! This is my Halloween version inspired by her work and helped with her fool proof dough recipe. I’ve baked a lot of pies and I’ve always had trouble with dough slouching or decorations getting deformed after baking. This dough bakes up very well and her tools and clear directions make beautifully decorated pies within reach of every baker. Thank you for such an incredible addition to my recipe book shelf!
