P. Rains: Calibration is easy and will set the units perfectly. The pH meter seems a bit "cheap" but so far no issues. The PPM meter seems more well built. Accuracy is perfect once calibrated. DO NOT SUBMERGE either of these past the test line or that's it. Had that happen on a couple of other units. Good value for the money.

Anudeep: Works great and looks accurate. Testing water bottles multiple times and gave me same results.
Testing tap water which I used for cooking, based on results started using bottled water for cooking.
This product is more like Annual medical exam, good to test even when everything is good and know the flawless.

gingerjules16: Works great except I had no idea that it would require me to purchase additional ph testing packets if I want to use the pH meter after the first use. The instructions clearly say you must calibrate if you use the meter often or if you go long periods without using it. Ummm that means all the time. I contacted the seller and they pointed me to amazon to purchase additional packets. I would have liked to see this in the item description that additional purchase is required.
All that aside, I tested the pH of several types of water and the pH meter was very accurate.

DB: If you wonder what the quality of your tap water is, these two meters measure PH and how many "solids" are in your water. With testing you can determine if you might want to buy a water filter for your drinking and cooking water. Drinking should have a pH value of 6.5-8.5 to fall within EPA standards. Level 7 is neutral. Higher than 8.5 is alkaline and lower than 6.5 is acidic. You can buy just the PH meter for $15 but I bought both meters for under $20. The second meter measures if there are some contaminants like heavy metals of lead and other minerals which can be in homes with older pipes. The PH meter is also handy for checking the water in your hot tub or pool to ensure you have enough chlorine and not too much either of which is unhealthy for your skin. They include some chemicals you can use to calibrate the PH meter. I also used a purchased bottle of purified water to test the meters and they seem to be very accurate. I tested the solid matter meter against one that came with my water filter and they read the same so I think that meter is accurate. I recommend this... why wouldn't you spend $20 to ensure that the water you and your family are drinking is safe? Took a bit...

Doug: These are very inexpensively made. The TDS meter is good - from what I can tell, it does a good job of measuring the *relative* amount of dissolved salts in solution. Is it perfect/on the dot every time - no. Does it do a decent job, sure. the pH meter on the otherhand abolutely does NOT come calibrated. Do not count on the pH meter being within 2 pH units upon purchase. You must calibrate it and I must admit, it's a pain to do so and you only have one shot at it with what materials they provide. Even after you calibrate it, it's still off a bunch and very erratic... at least 0.5 pH units. Personally, I wouldn't trust the certainty beyond a window of +/- 1 pH unit, and that's after calibration and after averaging 3 measurements. The benefit of this thing is that it's portable, but the more you jostle it around the less accurate it gets and you need to store it upright and it's just not that great. If you need to make sure something isn't crazy acidic or crazy alkaline, sure the pH meter will do... but so will litmus paper. Long story short - the TDS meter is pretty good. The pH meter is not.
