Introducing Chunky Chews 8" Braided Rawhide Rings for Large Dogs (Beef, 1-Pack)! Our rawhide bones are the best on the market, with a flavor, longevity, and smell that can't be beat. Plus, they're great for big dogs and aggressive chewers. Our rawhide bones are made from natural grass-fed beef hides, so they're healthy and safe for consumption - no chemicals, preservatives, or bleaches. With the perfect packaging, you can give your pup the best rawhide treat available! HDT: I ordered two of these, one for each of my dogs, and I think these are the best bones we've ever tried. My dogs are 80+ lb labs, and one of them can easily go through an 10 inch rawhide in an afternoon, if she so inclines. She LOVES to chew, but eats too much rawhide at once and you can tell she's uncomfortable the rest of the day.
However we don't give our dogs real bones any more after our chew-happy female lab broke a back tooth last year on a real bone, causing it to get abscessed (we didn't know she broke it), and required an eight hundred dollar surgery to have the tooth pulled. So after that, no more real bones.
These braided rawhide rings are amazing. They are huge and the way they are designed, it takes them forever to chew them up. So even with my dogs chewing away at these all day today, they've just barely gotten started on them. My dogs can chew and chew, and are eating far less rawhide because of how long it takes them to chew through these.
They're pricier than regularly shaped rawhides, but so worth every penny. My dogs get so excited about these, they go right back to them after going out to potty, not even waiting for their usual...

Elizabeth: Our doberman likes to chew big bones, but we were concerned with him getting shards caught in his throat or belly. We are not yet ready to buy him uncooked bones (hassle, can't really leave them laying around, still risk of choking), so rawhide seemed like the best option. For normal rawhide bones that are not thick and huge, he chews them up in a matter of minutes. He has been chewing on this for about 6 days and has almost destroyed it all. But for the big chewer he is, it seems like a reasonable time and we were happy it lasted this long. It makes him happy and even though I would rather not spend about $12/week for things for him to chew on, it seems better than things made of plastic, or cooked bones. I think for a dog that is not a very serious chewer, this would last longer. He seemed to like the non-beef one better, but it might have just been that he hadn't had a bone recently and used the non-beef one first and by the time he got to this one, he wasn't as desperate. We will probably get the one that is not beef flavored in the future.
If anyone has any suggestions of better options, we would like to hear them, but have not found any options that seem safe and not...

CmonkeyCmonkey: This thing is HUGE and my Great Dane absolutely adores it! I purchased 2 chews, a knotted one and this braided one, and I must say that I am very happy. That's saying a lot because I usually hate rawhide -- my dog normally devours most rawhide treats in about 15 minutes and during that time manages to tear off at least one soft wet chunk big enough to choke on and scare the daylights out of me. These are designed in a way those scary moments haven't happened!
These chews are truly CHUNKY - the ring is easily over 8 inches diameter and the braid is about 3 inches across, the rawhide is super thick and the whole thing is HEAVY. The braided design makes it so he cannot pull large pieces off to choke on and he has to work very hard to get even small pieces off. Normally if he has to work hard at a chew he will just give up - but not these! He carries it all over the house, plays with it by throwing it in the air (which is very loud on my wood floor), and then settles down for some chewing time -- this chew keeps him entertained for a good hour or more. In this hour of chewing he does NOT devour the rawhide like many other brands we have tried, he just barely manages to get a small...

OT_primyOT_primy: I have two young husky shepard mixes who go through chews like nobodies business!!! I usually stray away from rawhide as it can get stuck in their stomachs and not digest. But unlike most rawhides that just unroll into a sheet, these are not able to do so. My tough chewers “gave up” for the first time and were unable to pull off pieces bigger than 2 inches at the most. They loved being able to put their paws in it and I was able to see them having to use their minds to figure out how to get what they want. Better than a normal chew where they dont need to use their brains much. My male dog especially has no real interest in most chews but he by fair outlasted my smaller female dog who usually chews all day.
Only negative is that I think its a bit big for my 60 pound female. I noticed that her mouth was having to stretch super wide and it looked uncomfortable for her. But she knocked out for a nap after so at least it tired her out.
Also a great photo op for pups who are easily distracted!!!!
