Organic & Natural Fair to Medium Bahama Tan Self-Tanning Lotion

Tiffany N Allen: Let me start by saying, I have tried every single self-tanning product I could get my hands on, over the course of over ten years. I've tried the one's from the drug-store. I've tried the one's from the Department store. I've ordered one's online from facebook pop-ups. And I've tried the whole section's at Ulta and Sephora. I keep coming back to BAHAMA TAN, for a multitude of reasons. Let me name a few of them and their pro's and con's. My longtime favorite was always: St. Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse. I have used this for years on and off. The smell isn't too smelly and the color goes on nice, looks nice and fades evenly. St. Tropez is a great sunless tanner, but for me, only the mousse option. The water spray and the oil, not so good. I've also used: Il Makiage Mousse. This is a facebook, trendy sunless tanner product line. The smell was way too much and the color and fading were just ok. Not worth the hype. Another line is the: Loving Tan Bronzing Mousse. This is alright. I will say that I enjoy the smell the most of any sunless tanner as it smells like a yummy cupcake. No smelly headache later while it's developing. The downside to Loving Tan is that the color comes out too...

I’ve tried many many self tanning products out there and let me tell you I was a little disappointed with this one sorry to say. I’m light skinned so I have freckles I always have had freckles.. if you look at my no so pretty legs it turned my freckles a darker brown. I bought the medium dark I usually buy a ultra dark product because of my freckles. Also let me school you on indoor self tanning. EVERYONE is different no person has the same skin or HORMONES. I have researched self tanning products for years and have learned that before and after your menstrual cycle your hormones do funny things to your skin especially when using self tanning . They say don’t start tan products until three days after and three days before is okay. People that take hormone products or pills your skin reaction is not going to react as well to DHA products. Natural products bronze products aren’t strong enough they don’t last as long. My problem with this brand is it’s not strong enough and I was a bit skeptical about buying a medium product. 8lackberry: In short:
Pros:
- Doesn't break me out
- Fades gracefully despite frequent shaving
- Easy to apply using nitrile gloves

Cons:
- Smells. (Haven't found one that doesn't though)
- Causes rashes on legs
- Packaging needs improvement

I have a sensitive acne-prone skin, and any time I use lotions on my body, I have to make sure they are not comedogenic.
This tanning lotion hasn't broken out, thankfully.
However it does cause rashes on my legs each time I use it, even though I do exfoliation and shaving at least 8 hours prior to application to avoid open pores.

The scent is pleasant at the application, but doesn't stay that way. After a couple hours it starts stinking like a fake tan on me and continues smelling even after showering for the next couple of days (I shower twice a day thoroughly).

The one major plus of this product is that it washes off gracefully for the most part. I get minor blotchiness on my legs, but the rest of the body doesn't show any streaking. It's very important to me, because I depilate every couple of days and other tanners don't do well with razors. That's the main reason I'll continue using this product...
